Edit Basic Components

This guide explains how to edit existing basic components in a form template. You can update their display settings, data configuration, validations, and conditionals.

When to Edit a Basic Component​

You should edit basic components when you need to:

  • Change labels, icons, or styles.
  • Update the values captured by the component.
  • Add or modify validation rules.
  • Apply or adjust conditional logic.

To Edit a Form Template​

  1. Hover over the component and click the gear icon in the top-right corner.

  2. The edit modal will appear with four tabs: Display, Data, Validation, and Conditional.
    • Make the necessary changes in one or more tabs:
      • Display: Update how the component appears.
      • Data: Define selectable values or data types.
      • Validation: Set required fields, value uniqueness, or length restrictions.
      • Conditional: Show or hide the component based on logic.
  3. Click Save to apply changes.
